![]() ![]() These high levels of consumption cost the District more to purchase, store, treat, maintain facilities and distribute so these costs incurred at the higher tiers are passed onto the households that use the most water. ![]() Residential use at high levels generally indicates water is being consumed in unusually high amounts, beyond what is normally required for household use, even for a larger family. By using tiered rates, the average household doesn't pay the incremental costs for those homes (very few) that use more than their fair share of water. Basically, the more water a household uses, the more they pay per thousands of gallons. The District's water rates (based on an average household) are calculated on a graduated scale, what are called tiers. Unlike most water districts, it also includes the first tier of water. The monthly Water Use Fee ($19.77 for the first 5,000 gallons of water used in 2023) is for the operational costs of water storage, treatment, and supply. Like many water providers in Colorado, MSMD collects a water resource fee to enable it to purchase additional raw water as the community grows. Reconnection services are provided between the hours of 8:00 a.m. Services will NOT automatically be restored if full payment is made without speaking with office staff first! Colorado Centre Metro District allows reconnection of service up to 24 hours after full payment and notification to office staff. If your service has been disconnected due to a delinquent account status, service will be restored upon payment of the full account balance and a call to the District Office during business hours. The $100 service connection deposit shall be payable in cash or certified check at the time a reconnection request is made. A habitually delinquent account may have the service reconnected upon full payment of: 1) the full account balance 2) all disconnection and reconnection fees 3) an additional $100 service connection deposit. Whenever any late payment on a customer account occurs twice within any 12 month period, that account is considered habitually delinquent. The District may discontinue service if payment in full is not received by the last day of the same month. A penalty of $15 will be automatically assessed to a customer’s account in the event any charge due and payable to the District by a property owner and/or customer is not received by the 25th of the month the charge is invoiced. ![]()
